Heaven, the Bible Way

Are you 100% sure that if you were to die today you’d go to Heaven? The good news of the Gospel is that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again so that you could go to Heaven! So, what is your responsibility?

Here are five things you must accept about yourself, your sin, and the Savior in order to go to Heaven:

1) Accept the truth about yourself (that you are guilty before God).

Romans 3:10 and 23 says “As it is written, there is none righteous (perfect), no not one”. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. We are all guilty of sin.

2) Accept the truth about your sin (that your sin carries an eternal penalty).

Romans 6:23a says “For the wages of sin is death” (separation from God in hell). Because of His holiness, God has always required a payment for sin in order for us to be restored back to Him.

3) Accept the truth about the Savior (that Jesus paid the penalty for your sin in full).

Romans 5:8 says “But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”.

John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

Because of Jesus’ righteousness (perfection), only He was able to offer himself as the sacrifice for our sins, the satisfaction of our sin debt.

4) Accept that salvation is God’s free gift to you.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Romans 6:32b says “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Since it is a gift, it cannot be earned or bought. It must simply be received!

5) Seeing your need for Christ, repent of your sin and receive Him as your personal Savior.

Acts 3:19 says “Repent ye, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out”.

John 6:47 says “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on (receiveth) me hath everlasting life”.

Romans 10:13 says “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”.

Accepting these things about yourself, your sin, and the Savior, invite Jesus into your heart right now, by praying something like this:

“Dear Jesus, I know that I’m a sinner and need to be saved from the penalty of Hell. I believe that you died on the cross to pay my sin penalty so that I can go to Heaven. I repent of my sins and ask Jesus to come into my heart and save me.”
